An easy way to see which borough in NYC has the highest crime rate is either by using a graph or a folium map. For each of these, two different data sets were used. One was the total crime that was recorded in NYC and the other was just focused on shootings, as seen in the title of the bar graph.
Unfortunately I could not get the map to be interactive on the website, but when it is run in the python code, you get an html file that is fully interactive. Both the borough and what type of data shown can be changed to reduce number of markers/lag.
Like stated before, the bar graph show only shooting incidents that occurred in the NYC recently, and by looking at it, we can clearly see that Brooklyn has the highest shooting incidents in NYC. With this information, a lot can be done. For example, since shooting incidents are this high in Brooklyn, there can be more attention aimed at getting firearms off the streets. With the map, a course of action can be taken where neighborhoods with high crime activity, can be under surveillance more frequently in order to regulate safety.
